Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

In 2019 we will be making several non-simultaneous simultaneous swaps. And another in NZ in 2020 so we're keen to line up another home exchange there if possible. Our home is a tri-level timber pole house in the Hills area of Perth. You will enjoy a very comfortable open plan home , with interesting reticulated gardens set amongst a huge granite outcrop. We are close to walk/horse-riding trails and have good bicycles available for your use. Darlington is a quiet, semi-rural area, with a village atmosphere - the general store and post office are at the end of our street, as well as cafes/coffee shops, and the sporting oval and childrens playground are also nearby. It's a short drive to the Swan Valley vineyards where you will find a wealth of restaurants - very popular on the weekend. If you prefer public transport we are 15 mins by car to Midland train station and a major shopping centre. It is only 20 mins to Perth international and domestic airports and 30 mins drive to Perth city. We have 3 adult sons, 2 of whom still live in Perth and are always available should you need any assistance during your stay

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

Our neighbourhood is quiet, with friendly neighbours. A lovely spot to chill out, listen to the birdlife, enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine, go for long walks or bike rides. There are a couple of great coffee shops in walking distance, as well as the Darlington oval and children's playground. The Bilgoman public swimming pool is 5 mins away. Public transport (bus) can be accessed at the end of our street, but it's easy to drive to pretty much anywhere in Perth. If it's beaches you are after, allow 45 minutes driving time, morning is the best time, before the sea breeze arrives!

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home

It's a five minute walk to either of two great cafes, Darlington Pines or Cafe 2, and the Darlington Oval and children's playground. The Darlington Bridle Trail is a walking/cycling trail at the end of our street. It follows the route of an old train line, and is a great way to enjoy the surrounding bushland. The wildflowers in August/September are particularly lovely.

Our Preferences

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules

Please check our exchange preferences below. Whilst children are very welcome, please be aware that toddlers/very young children, will have to be supervised because we have stairs, and the garden has very large rocky boulders with lots of different levels. But it certainly aids the development of agility in little ones!
