Sue and Dennis live at Buderim which overlooks the beaches of the Sunshine Coast. Dennis retired in 2013 and Sue retired recently. Dennis loves his golf and
we now have 5 grandchildren who live locally so Sue is busy. We have become addicted to kayaking our wonderful Sunshine Coast waterways as a result of COVID. We both love the finer things in life...good food, wine, friends ...and travel!

Buderim overlooks the coastal areas of Caloundra, Alexandra Headlands, Mooloolaba and Maroochydore and is regarded as one of the most desirable places to live on the Sunshine Coast. We live to close proximity of all the attractions in this part of the world - the Pacific with its famous surf beaches and associated water activities including diving, fishing and whale watching - and the hinterland which boasts fabulous national parks, quaint scenic rim villages and attractions.
Within an hour to Brisbane international airport and 15 mins to the local airport servicing southern destinations.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Buderim is situated behind and overlooking the tourist hub of the Sunshine Coast. It's just a short drive to the beaches but far enough away to get away from the hustle and bustle. Spread across the top of the volcanic plateau and down the escarpment, the famous town on Buderim Mountain has recently celebrated 150 years of community spirit, since settlement in 1862. Buderim is in fact, the oldest established European settlement on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. Despite being only 590 feet (180m) above sea level at the highest point and technically under the official height of a mountain, the plateau has been known as Buderim Mountain from the early days. The Public School carries the full title in its name. Anyone who spends time here will see that Buderim is something special, from the busy CBD (known locally as Buderim Village) to the secret green forest getaways which grace the slopes . . . it is not hard to see why so many people fall in love with this place

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Our abode is walking distance (2 mins!) to the village of Buderim which has many cafes and restaurants, a supermarket, doctors, dentists and pharmacists and a number of speciality shops. Travel eastwards 10 minutes by car you reach the gorgeous beaches of Maroochydore, Alex Headlands and Mooloolaba and all the tourist strip offers. Further north you'll arrive at Noosa and south you'll end up at Caloundra. Travel westward you may stumble across AussieWorld park, The Australian Zoo (home of the late Steve Irwin, "Crocodile Hunter") and the gorgeous hinterland townships of Maleny, Mountville and Mapleton.
