We are a couple in our early 60s and starting to experiment with working less than full time. Ann is a Social Worker (mental health) and Terence is a Secondary Teacher (design and technology). We really enjoy travelling both within Australia and all regions of our world. We have been very active travellers for over four decades and this is our first venture into home exchange. Our interests are wide - art galleries, music events, eating and cooking great food and learning about new cultures, architecture and gardens. We are adventurous in visiting all types of natural environments - from deserts to the coast, mountains and rivers. We also love being in cities and also smaller towns and rural communities.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Brunswick is a large multicultural and diverse neighbourhood, home to artists of all kinds. Brunswick is known for some of Melbourne’s best cafes, bars and unique shopping experiences. We are very close to the International and Domestic air terminals, located 5km from the CBD and have easy access to public transport - 2 tram lines and one train line. There are also bike paths for cyclists. Our home is surrounded by public gardens - one at the end of our street, Princes Hill, the Brickworks, Royal Park and Melbourne Zoo all are within easy walking distance. Occasionally, we can even hear the sounds of lions and monkeys from the zoo.
There is also a great public gym and swimming pool less than 1 km from us.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Great morning walks from the house around the zoo, stop for coffee on the way back around the corner at the local cafe Sweet Evelyn.
Walks around Royal Park ovals, golf course and Princess Park. The City Centre is a 50 minute walk from the house.
Playground and BBQ in the local park at the end of our street. Numerous cafes, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, music venues, galleries and small store boutique shopping nearby.
Too many restaurants and cafes to mention ... all within strolling distance...

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
Unfortunately, we would prefer not to have small children stay as they would require continuous supervision in the house. We are not packing up all our household belongings and therefor it is not toddler proof.
