Description of the home we are offering for exchange
We live in a large, rambling Hills home which is tucked away privately behind mature gardens and pretty hedges. Our home is situated on over an acre of glorious, flat land and comes complete with 4 spacious bedrooms (step down master with ens & WIR), 3 bathrooms (main with period features & clawfoot bath) and huge laundry. An intimate setting for formal, fireside dining creates a beautiful space for family dinners and flows easily down into the large sun-filled lounge that has huge windows and takes in the full aspect of the rear yard.
In addition there is a cosy family room that is lined with Victorian ash floorboards and boasts original brick features. The kitchen is the hub of the home and has large bay windows that overlook the 10 x 5m in-ground heated pool and many of the mature fruit trees planted around the block.
Evaporative cooling and GDH throughout makes for a comfortable setting all year round while the open fire place creates a warm ambience. The large decking at the rear of the home is the perfect place to enjoy our home in the summer months ahead. Come and see for yourself what a lovely home this is...

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
We live in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges where you can escape to a lush haven of hidden delights with secret fern glades, towering forests and eclectic villages. Absorb the creative vibe of shops and galleries in nearby Olinda, Belgrave and Sassafras, overflowing with one-off designs in jewellery, furniture and glasswork. Here you can tuck into famous Devonshire teas in cosy cafes. Or dine aboard the Puffing Billy steam train or savour.Nearby in the Dandenong Ranges is a gorgeous little towns called Sassafras which is a perfect destination for a day trip with numerous restaurants and niche stores. The one place you cannot allow yourself to walk past when visiting this cute little town is the famous Miss Marples Tea Room. Set in a purpose built Tudor style building this restaurant plays homage to the memory of Agatha Christie's novel character Miss Marple, it is perfect down to every detail including floral curtains and matching tablecloths, Miss Marple memorabilia and even dozens of porcelain teapots.
The Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden is host to brilliantly coloured blooms of over 15,000 rhododendrons, 12,000 azaleas, 3,000 camellias, 250,000 daffodils and countless cherries. The 104-acre garden is within close proximity to the township of Olinda.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Our home is a two minute walk to a bus stop which takes you into Belgrave station where you can catch a train into the City or take a trip on Puffing Billy. This is Australia’s favourite steam train and is one of the finest preserved steam railways in the world. This century old steam train is still running on its original 24 kilometre mountain track from Belgrave to Gembrook, through the beautiful forests and fern gullies of the Dandenong Ranges. The open-sided carriages are the best way to see the stunning views and you can even dangle your legs over the side of the carriages. Alternatively, you can travel first class in the comfort of their luxury, fully enclosed dining carriages, on the daily ‘Steam & Cuisine’ Luncheon Train', or on their ‘Dinner & Dance Train’, which departs on selected Friday and Saturday evenings.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We would hope that the house is maintained and that anything that is used is returned. Sadly we have had one negative experience whereby two families stayed at our house (through a different site) at the same time as they were related to each other. Afterwards I was missing many personal and household items, which was really disappointing.
