Our Home For Exchange
Description of the home we are offering for exchange
We have a two bedroom apartment on the waterfront in the middle of Airlie. The front door of the units is on Shute Harbour Road. We are next to Heart Hotel. The "back" of our unit faces the sea and the Airlie Lagoon. You have water views from both bedrooms, the kitchen and of course the veranda.
Our unit is fully furnished. The bathroom and kitchen have been recently renovated. We have secure carparking. Because we are in the middle of Airlie we are 10 minutes walk from each of the Marinas where you will join your ferry to the reef or sailing boat around the islands. Travel agencies are in the building as are coffee shops. The bus stop is a minute's walk away. Dozens of restaurants are within a couple of minutes walking distance. You do not have to walk up any hills to get home after a good night out. When you are at home you will spend your time on our large private veranda watching the view and the world go by.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our unit is secure and is one of only 5. We are on above cafes and retail shops. There is a lot to watch as people go to and from the Airlie Lagoon. We are in the middle of town, so lots of things to do and easily accessible. Airlie is a small town. If you want to see the Great Barrier Reef, then Airlie is the place to go from.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
The Great Barrier Reef and the Whitsunday Islands are at your doorstep. Airlie is the town you go to if you want to visit the reef and the islands. If you prefer walking then there are some great walking tracks. Most are easy but the Great Walk is difficult. General walking is picturesque. There is a board walk that follows the waterfront for a couple of km. For swimming there is Airlie Lagoon and in the non-stinger season you can swim from all three beaches. Play ground equipment is available for children who also love the lagoon.
