We are both retired school teachers.
We LOVE classical music and are highly involved in the Shoalhaven Lydian Singers (a local community choir) and Music Shoalhaven. Ona is a solo Soprano and performs in concerts in many places. Roy plays the piano and sings second tenor.
Roy is a keen gardener but has had to downsize as his body can't keep up with his dreams! We love history, gardens, art and architecture, too.
We are both very involved in our church, the Berry Uniting Church, in music and study and administration.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our beautiful villa is set in a quiet complex, "The Palms", very close to the lush, rural countryside of the pristine Shoalhaven, with its magnificent river, beaches, bays and highlands. "The Palms" is set right next to the Green Orchid Reserve. The villa is encompassed by beautiful gardens. Birds of many kinds can be heard all through the day.
Large windows and open plan lounge and family room ensure a wonderful experience of light and space. The Piano in the Music Room/Study ensures that music always fills our home. There are many classical CD`s to listen to as you while away the hours.
Any time is a delightful time to be in the Shoalhaven, with weather that can draw everyone to beach and seaside activities or to walks in the countryside and up on the hinterland.
A shopping centre is situated right next door.
Of course, if you`d like a short visit to Sydney for a dose of city life...it`s only 2 1/2 hours north.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
The Shoalhaven area of NSW contains pristine beaches (the whitest sands in the world), forests and national and marine parks. Jervis Bay provides opprtunities for dolphin and whale watching. There you can also enjoy many water sports.
Worrigee is situated at the very eastern edge of the Nowra Urban Area right next to lush dairy farming country with a backdrop of coastal ranges. In ten minutes you can be savouring all that the beaches and the bays can provide. Our neighbours are very friendly and helpful.
We are a twenty minute drive from Berry, a historical Victorian town, full of cafes, antique and craft shops.
Nowra, the main service town for The Shoalhaven, five minutes away, provides for plenty of shopping opportunities in all the major retail outlets. It also provides great cultural resources with art, music, drama and literature at hand through the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre, Nowra School of Arts, Art Gallery, Nowra Players and Library.
Australia`s National Capital, Canberra, (two and a half hours drive) and Sydney (two hours drive/ train trip) provide many world-class art exhibitions and other cultural experiences including the iconic Sydney Opera House.
