David specialised in reproduction.; one speciality has been ET in alpacas; this included training Peruvian vets high up in the alto Plano. He volunteers de-sexing dogs in an aboriginal community in Arnhem Land but these days he fits in a lot of fly fishing. Pam loves gardening. WE both still like snow skiing & walking & ‘going bush’ in our off-road caravan. We have three adult children (flown the nest) & 3 dear little grandsons; all of whom live nearby.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our home is in a good location for touring up and down the coast or for exploring Melbourne. Architect-designed: light & spacious with water views over the Ocean Grove main beach and towards the Barwon Heads bluff & the Barwon River. There’s lots of room for families with 2 living areas, (including a rumpus room with billiard table & exercise equipment), a study, 4 bedrooms; 2 with queen size beds, one has 2 single beds & one has a cot & is set up for grand kids with lots of toys! We have a single trundle bed & sleeping mats too if needed. There’s a separate laundry, 2 bathrooms & 2 fabulous timber decks upstairs so you can follow the sun. The kitchen has quality Miele and Neff appliances & a large granite bench with stools for chatting to the cook.
Outside is a securely fenced, north-facing, solar-heated pool set in an expansive timber deck. Our garden has water views & some old gums which compliment sculptures made by local artists. Furnishings include antiques, eclectic 70s pieces, original artwork & quirky pieces collected from our travels. Floor coverings are Australian spotted gum timber, natural sisal & large quality rugs.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Perfect location for touring up and down the coast and be back at base the same day or for exploring Melbourne or Geelong or all that the Bellarine Peninsula offers. Some activities include: Visit historic lighthouses in the nearby towns of Queenscliff, or take car ferry to Sorrento,or ride a steam train or dive with seals & shipwrecks, visit Point Lonsdale, for views of the notorious rip: entrance to Port Phillip Bay; visit Torquay, home to surf brands, Quicksilver and Ripcurl, and famous Bells Beach. Continue along the Great Ocean Road, one of the world’s iconic coast drives: visit the 12 Apostles, visit Lorne with its wide bay, watch kangaroos on the Anglesea golf course, or walk in rainforest or view it from the tree tops on the 'Otway Fly’. There’s fishing, surfing, swimming, world class golf courses and wineries. Lots to do in Geelong, our regional city which is 20 minutes away & Melbourne is only an hour from there by train or car & is renowned for sporting, culinary & cultural attractions, hidden lane way bars & multicultural suburbs. Ballarat is a great day trip for re-living Australian history. You can fly to Sydney & the Gold Coast from nearby Avalon airport.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We would love to take our whole family (adults & grand kids) overseas; particularly to Spain or Portugal or France or Italy; anywhere really; is there a like-minded family anywhere in Europe who would exchange with us?? What a fantastic experience this would be for all!
Another preference is just us two empty nesters swapping a beach house for a ski house in the northern hemisphere.
OR to swap our beach home for a home/apartment in Melbourne, perhaps on a regular basis (either bayside or inner Melbourne)
OUR house rules are simple: we would show the same respect for your home as we would expect from you. WE LOVE OUR HOME as do our children & grand children but we’re not precious!!
