We are an active family who loves reading, food, theatre and meeting new people. Julia is a sociology professor at a nearby university and James and Urban planner. We have three children who do not live with us anymore. But perhaps one of them or two may join us on our holidays from time to time.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
We live in a quiet residential street close to public transportation. Our children are 25 and 16 years old. We also have a 30 year old daughter who may or may not travel with us.
Chicago is an amazing city, with great museums, shopping, incredible cultural diversity, beautiful buildings, a fantastic lake front with great sailing and fishing and an incredible arts community. Chicago is one of America's most picturesque cities, with its beloved skyline curving along the bright blue green waters of Lake Michigan, its hyper-color river weaving its way beside some of America's most iconic buildings, its train yards bustling with commerce and history, and its world-famous theater and shopping and dining. While you're here, you will have access to world-class museums of art and science, miles of sandy beaches, huge parks and public art, and perhaps the finest collection of modern architecture in the world.
Great places to visit include the Sears Tower, Brookfield Zoo, Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Art Institute of Chicago, Michigan Avenue, Adler Planetarium, The Field Museum, Hancock Observatory, Chicago Trolleys, Millenium Park, Museum of Contemporary Art, Ravinia Festival, Shedd Acquarium.

We would be happy to line up some ideas for you.
There are fabulous golf courses, beautiful forest preserves that are free for public use with beautiful paths for walking and rivers for perfect for kayaking, paved bike trails through the woods, and many smaller lakes, amusement parks, and things to see. Six Flags Great America, a large and well known amusement park, is about one hour drive away. Shopping malls abound.
