We're a German-Hungarian-English-speaking family of 5 plus 1 cat. Our children aged 16, 14 and 9 are well behaved and tidy. Our very friendly and calm cat stays at home and needs to be fed by our exchange partners.
We're a teacher and a psychotherapist / pastoral care worker, and our family loves nature, hikes and swims, and we seek calmness and relaxation. We're also very interested in cultural and historic sites, and we love to travel.
We bought our house just recently and have renovated it top to bottom. Thus, more pictures will follow soon.
Since we love the mix of nature and culture, our house is the perfect place for house exchange partners who seek likewise: Our house is nestled at the edge of the woods right in the middle of the Odenwald mountains, yet close to the city of Heidelberg and many cultural activities and touristic sites.
We're curious to get in touch with you!
We've done house exchanges on a private level before, but now that we bought and refurbished our own house, we want to do house exchanges "large scale" via homelink. :-)

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Family home set next to the woods of the Odenwald mountains 7 kms from Heidelberg. Beautiful rural area surrounded by nature, large garden, great view, relaxation & calmness to enjoy; yet close to the city (Heidelberg) and to many touristic sights: Heidelberg castle, Mannheim, Frankfurt, fortresses, castles, lakes, sports, hikes, etc.
Our home is newly renovated, consisting of 5 bedrooms, 2 living rooms (1 with a piano and dining table, the other one being a library and "home entertainment cinema room"), 2 bathrooms (1 with a shower, 1 with a shower + extra bathtub), kitchen, a cosy terrace, a balcony with nice view into the mountains and woods, a fenced-in garden with a bbq place, a lounger and a trampoline for kids (all facing South), and an extra room with a sofa-bed with a seperate entrance to the garden / terrace.
Our house is right at the edge of the woods where lots of hiking trails await you. We live in the last street of our village, in a very calm and rural neighborhood.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our neighborhood is very friendly, quiet, rural. The neighbors are very helpful, but leave you in peace. The forest literally lies at our front door, great hikes to enjoy in the Odenwald mountains. The village has a small supermarket, bakery, and a few restaurants. Our street is the last / highest of the village, behind us only the deers reside. (Our street name "Am Hirschwald" means "Deerwood lane". :-) Great views into the valley / village.
Public transport to Heidelberg and Mannheim runs every 20-30 minutes, hourly at night.
7 km to Heidelberg, 30 km to Mannheim, 80 km to Frankfurt, 100 km to France.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Hikes into the Odenwald mountains begin right at our front door. 25 minutes by bus or car into the city of Heidelberg with its famous castle, old part of town, university, Neckar river and bridges, museums, shops, pedestrian zone, restaurants, theaters, opera, cinemas, etc. Within 30 minutes drive from our house, there are more cultural and touristic sights to visit than you could do in a whole year: castles and fortresses, museums and theaters, zoos and amusementparks, cities and medieval towns, Roman fortresses, a stalactite cave and so much more. Lakes and sports places, golf, horse farms, alpaka farm, canoeing (for rent) etc. within 10-30 minutes drive, too.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We love children, but enjoy tidiness upon coming home, too. :-) We need guests who are willing to feed and love our cat - and will get her love in return. Watering our flowers in our garden on hot summer days would be appreciated (approx. 15 min.). Of course we're willing to take care of pets and plants of our exchange partners, too. Taking good care of your house and property is self-evident.
