We are a family of two art historians in their late 40ies / early 60ies with a grown-up daughter who is now out of the house because of her studies (but she likes to travel with us). We work as scholars in art history and lecturers at the Universities in Bonn and York (GB). For professional and private reasons, we like to travel a lot and look forward to welcoming guests!

Large house with garden and fireplace in Koblenz, centrally located between Cologne, Frankfurt and Trier on the romantic Rhine and Moselle valleys. Three floors (ground floor, 2nd floor/attic and basement with infrared sauna), the garden and the car park are exclusively provided for our guests. On the 1st floor is my seperate office, where a secretary may work during office hours.

Our house is located in a quiet part of Koblenz on the hill near the Ehrenbreitstein fortress (15 minutes walk), which offers a breathtaking view of the city and the rivers Moselle and Rhine. Several supermarkets with bakeries are about 1.5 km away. The city centre of Koblenz with all facilities (train station, museums, shopping, restaurants, pubs) is about 4 km away. There is a bus to the city centre about twice an hour right outside the front door.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Koblenz is surrounded by beautiful countryside (Rhine and Moselle valleys, the volcanic mountains of the Eifel). In Bad Ems (12 km/15 minutes by car) there is a famous and modern thermal spa). In the surrounding villages there are many possibilities for cultivated wine tasting. The cities of Cologne, Frankfurt and Trier are approx. 1 1/4 hours away by car or train.

We are very happy to have guests. Smoking is comfortable on the terrace on the ground floor or on the balcony on the second floor, but please do not smoke in the house. You are welcome to use all our appliances and equipment, including the infrared sauna and the home trainer in the basement. Please return the house to us in a clean and tidy condition - just as you found it.
