Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Home is in a private/quit setting in the Taconic Mts of New York near Massachusetts (5 mi) and Vermont (15 mi). The home is 1300 SF with three bedrooms, one with a pull out bed/computer area. The house has a wrap around deck/covered porch. Vegetable gardens, when visiting in season, eat whatever is ripe! Also available are two kayaks and bikes.
A 0.25 mile walk brings you to a trout stream and waterfalls. A 5 mile drive to the Taconic Crest hiking trail, which straddles the NY and MA/VT borders, provides great views of theses three states.
10 mi: Berkshire area (MA) including Williams College, Clark Art Inst., Williamstown shopping and dining. Grafton Lakes State Park (NY) fishing, kayaking, swimming, hiking, snowmobiling. Kayak float on the Hoosic or Wallomsac rivers with return by bike.
20 mi: Mass MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art). Mt Greylock (highest peak in MA). Bennington VT and Green Mt National Forest. Jiminy Peak downhill Ski/ and summer amusement area.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Rural and quiet. The house is set on 4 acres of wooded property with the exception of the cleared lawn and garden area. No homes visable from large deck or porch area. Enjoy your bar-b-que in peace and quiet! Only three other homes on Rolland Road. A quarter mile walk brings you to the Hoosic River. This is a good trout fishing stream. Another quarter mile down stream brings you to the water fall and swimming hole. If you enjoy bike riding (2 all terrain bikes available) there are many paved and gravel roads to explore with very little vehicle traffic. May be visited by bear, moose, deer, eagles, owls, hawks and a few of the neighbors pets looking for a treat.
