Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

Our house is in a lovely town in North Cornwall in the South West of the U.K. We are near the town centre (10 mins walk) which has many shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants and a cinema. This means that we are not for people who want a tranquil, countryside location but we are brilliantly located for
people who like to walk into town for a meal, coffee or to go to the cinema. You can also walk along the river in the town or along the Camel trail cycle route.

The coast is a 20 min drive away where you will find beaches, spectacular coastline and gorgeous fishing villages. The rest of Cornwall is also very accessible within a maximum hours drive, so you could visit St Michaels Mount, St Ives, the Eden Project and many other locations. We are members of a local golf club, St Enodoc which is in the top 100 world courses and could introduce you. There are several other very good courses in the area.

The house is detached and has off road parking. We have central heating, a gas fire in the kitchen and an open log fire in the lounge. There are 2 bedrooms available for exchange, one super-king bed and one with twin beds, and 1 bathroom with bath and shower. The house is run as a B&B in the summer and the bedrooms are empty of all our personal belongings. We have separate accommodation on the top floor which is private.

Newquay airport is 20 mins away and Bodmin Parkway train station is 30 mins. The National Express bus also stops in the town.

Neighbourhood

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

North Cornwall is a beautiful part of the world which attracts thousands of tourists every year. There are so many things to see and do it is hard to list them here but it is a particularly good place for walkers, golfers, people interested in historic houses, garden enthusiasts, surf and sea.

Wadebridge, where we live, is a lively and popular town due to it's location on the Camel Estuary and proximity to Padstow, Rock and surrounding villages and beaches. The town has a great range of independent shops, cafes and restaurants and even has a 2 screen cinema which shows mainstream films and also streams live theatre and ballet from the National Theatre and Covent Garden Royal Ballet. There are several gym facilities and a couple of swimming pools, and plenty of green spaces and walks around the town area. The Camel Trail runs through the town and is a well known cycle trail which runs for 25 miles from Bodmin Moor, through Wadebridge to Padstow.

Our Preferences

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules

Because we are a B&B during the summer we take great care to present our house well and it is very important that anyone who stays here respects this and takes equal care in every respect. Absolutely no smoking anywhere (indoors or outside). We would expect care to be taken in the kitchen too in making sure that spills and cooking debris are cleared up promptly so that no staining occurs on worktops. There is an open fire in the lounge which you are welcome to use but please be vigilant and ensure the guard is up when the fire is unattended, even for a few minutes.
We have a cat, Tiggy, who will be here and need feeding. She's very sweet and no bother, has a cat flap so comes and goes as she pleases. Our dog Jet will be with us or with friends. If you wish to bring a pet it would need to be OK with Tiggy!
In short, we would expect to find our house clean, tidy and undamaged when we return just as we would expect to care for and leave any house we stay in.
