The St. Leo/Midtown neighborhood is conveniently close to downtown San Jose and located very near to bus routes; convenient to major highways; and is an 18-minute walk to Diridon Train Station, which will get you all over the Bay Area, including San Francisco. I'm also a short walk to the light rail. The neighborhood is a mix of apartments, houses and businesses, urban in that California, not-high-rise way. It's not a tourist destination, but rather, a good base of operations if you need to be in San Jose, where rents are astronomical.
