Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Sheffield is a lovely, vibrant university city with lots of cultural activities, theatres, bars, cinemas and parks. Sheffield is on the edge of the glorious Peak District, Britain's first National Park, where there are many historic houses to discover (including Chatsworth House) and is great for walking, climbing and activity sports. We're an hour from ancient York, 2 hours drive to the coast and 2 hours by train from London.
We're at the top of Meersbrook Park, in a friendly community where most people know each other. The street is tree-lined (as are many across Sheffield) and very quiet. There's a corner shop 100m away, a small shopping centre half a mile away and lots of cafes/restaurants within 15 minutes walk. The park is well-used by the local community for leisure, walking and meeting. It has a multi-use games area and a playground for small children as well as a crown green bowling area and views across the city from the best sledging hill in Sheffield!
