Lukas (born in 1971) works as an urbanist and energy advisor in an engineering office. Hobbies: reading, singing in a choir, chess and other games, hiking and bicycle tours.
Karin (1973) works as a nursing assistant in a retirement home. Hobbies: gardening, drama, board games, hiking and bicycle tours.
Jasmin (2002) is visiting the high school St. Klemens in Ebikon near Lucerne. Hobbies: reading, board games, drama and bicycle tours. Her friend Manuel is often with us and sometimes comes with us on vacation.
Loris (2005) is doing an apprenticeship as a cook . Hobbies: Lego, board games and hiking.
At times a foster child lives with us.
Rosmarie, Lukas’s mother, lives in the apartment on the ground floor. She’s happy about any kind of company. Her partner Louis is here from time to time, then both spend a few days or weeks at his home near Basel.
We also have 2 male cats (Timo and Moritz). During our holidays, they are looked after by Rosmarie if necessary.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
IN THE COMING MONTHS, A NEW BUILDING WILL BE BUILT ON THE NEIGHBORING PROPERTY, WHICH IS WHY NOISE AND DUST EMISSIONS ARE TO BE EXPECTED. WE HOPE THAT THE NEW BUILDING WILL BE COMPLETED IN SPRING 2023 AND LOOK FORWARD TO HOME EXCHANGE INQUIRIES FOR 2023.
Charming, almost 100 years old house (completely renovated in 2010, 2012 and 2016) in a small village on the railway line Lucerne - Olten (station in a distance of 700 m); nice old towns of Sursee, Willisau, Sempach, Beromünster and Zofingen nearby.

The mother of Lukas in the ground floor apartment answers your questions and will gladly give you excursion tips (she speaks German and French).
In the village you will find two grocery stores and a post office with stationery items.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
From our house you can explore the Wauwiler Moos with many storks and other birds by bike, drive to the historic towns of Willisau or Sursee and the lake of Sempach - or along the rivers Wigger and Aare to Olten. The short walk to the Santenberg is also worthwhile because of the great view over the wide plain with the Alpine panorama as a background.
Hikers can get on their expense in the Region "UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch" and in the Central Swiss Alps - you can reach these destinations in 30-60 minutes by car.
From Wauwil Lucerne can be reached by train or car in 30 minutes, Zurich, Basel and Bern in 1 hour.

Hints regarding pet care: On request, Lukas' mother can feed the cats.
Garden maintenance: On request, we can install a water sprinkler, so you do not have to irrigate the garden itself. But you are invited, in consultation with Lukas' mother, to harvest and eat the ripe fruits and vegetables.
We not only love home swaps, but camping holidays too. During this time our house is available - therefore a delayed house exchange is also possible.
