We love to travel and explore. Enjoy cities, hiking in the mountains, feeling the wind by the coast. Jenny is 57, a Communication Director at a global consultant network, and Ola. 58. runs his own hydrogeologist company. Our children are all grown-up so no longer travel with us. We both have quite flexible jobs, so open to different lengths of exhanges. Jenny works a lot from Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam so very interested in longer stays in either city, but very open to any kind of destination and length of stay.

Our Home For Exchange
Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Trendy Vasastan is one of the most popular parts of central Stockholm with lots of restaurants, bars, cafes and designer shops. The spacious apartment is situated on Rorstrandsgatan, one of the most well-known restaurant streets in Stockholm, with many flavors within just a couple of minutes walk.
The house was built 1929, and the apartment is on the top floor, sixth floor. Kitchen is well equipped with a large dining table. Open the balcony doors and let the sun in for your dinner. Kitchen opens up to the living room with a sofa and other sitting areas for relaxing. Here you will also find a big flat screen smart tv with Netflix, Viaplay and other streaming services. A very special oval room with a fireplace is connected to both the kitchen/dining and the living room. Here are comfortable chairs to read books or have something to dring in front of the fireplace. We have two bedrooms, each with a king size bed (1 bed 160 cm wide, 1 bed 180 cm wide) and 1 bathroom with shower.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
There are a number of shops directly on Rorstrandsgatan, both bakery, grocerie shops, flowers, clothes and more. Odengatan/Odenplan and Fridhemsplan are also shopping areas close to the apartement, where you will find everything from pharmacy to department stores, shoes and antiques. There are several food stores around the corner, the closest 100 m from the entrance to our building.
The airport bus stops a 10 minute walk from the apartment. Nearest metro station (tunnelbana) is St Eriksplan, and there are plenty of buses so very easy to move around Stockholm. Only 10 minutes by bus or bicycle you are in the very heart of Stockholm - Sergels torg, Stureplan and the Old Town with the Royal Castle.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
A location for all interests. Explore Stockholm with its good food, nice bars, parks and cafés. Enjoy the closeness to water and take a boat for a day trip or overnight stay in the archipelago. Plenty of museums and parks in the neighbourhood, as well as roof top bars.
Water is very close and a walk passing Karlberg will take you along the Karlsberg lake and Karlsbergs slott - a castle like building that houses the oldest military academy in the world. You can rent kayaks or SUP to paddel in the Karlsbergs lake, or around Kungsholmen. Also a very nice jogging route. You can also go for a swim at close by Hornsbergs strand. The water in Stockholm is very clean.

Our Preferences
Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
Open for all types of exchanges, also non simultaneous. It can be a weekend city break or a couple of weeks of holiday. For 2019/2020, We would very much like to stay in Brussels, Paris, Amsterdam, London, Rome or Madrid. Jenny works often in Paris and Brussels so would be great to have a bit longer stay there, but could be over the weekend too.
Summer 2020: France, Italy, Spain or some other place close to a beach or with a swimming pool.
Autumn 2020: city break Europe.
Christmas/New Year 2020: South Africa. Open for suggestions!
House rules: Take as much as you like from all "dry" groceries, wine, laundry detergent etc. If anything runs out, please just replace.Same if something breaks. I can arrange for someone to come clean after you have been here, if you wish (there will be a cost of approx 500 SEK). All linen and towels will be in your readymade beds. When leaving, just leave them in the bathroom and I will take care of the laundry when I come home. I am flexible, but it has worked out well in the past, so I hope that the above can be a mutual agreeement in your home too
