Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
From our house Westlake park with 2 lakes is just 3 mins walk away. Halswell Quarry, a lovely city council park with flat and hill walks, picnic tables, native bush, dog walking area, is 5 mins. drive away. Local indoor swim pool, Pioneer Pool, is 15 mins drive away. Halswell New World supermarket is 5 minutes drive away, with a Westpac Bank, bakery, chemist, hairdresser, and Crathorne Hotel and licenced restaurant in the same area (can recommend their roast). Across the road from this is another up-market restaurant, The Vicarage, with White House Black Restaurant further along the main Halswell Road. Halswell Domain is 10 minutes walk away with a lake, miniture railway, tennis courts, children's play area incorporating the summer-only Halswell Open Air Swim Pool with Hydroslide, city council library and restaurant. Local beaches, Brighton and Sumner, are 30 to 40 mins. drive across the city.
