The house is comfortable with all the mod cons we needed and it was lovely having toys and equipment that Matilda enjoyed. Hope to be able to do more exchanges with you both in the future. Thanks X

Auckland is a wonderful city with lots of good restaurants, great museums and parks, and the harbour area is just lovely. The city is less than a 30 minute bus ride from Anne and John's home, and the bus stop is right outside the door. The small local town, Blockhouse Bay, is easy to walk to - shops cafes all nearby. There are some very scenic walks in the area along the coast - very well mapped out. Lots of places to see too just a short drive away. We really enjoyed this exchange. A big thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our house is on a quiet back section in a desirable Auckland suburb. It is easy walking distance to Blockhouse Bay village which has a supermarket and many other shops, and a 25 minute walk to busy New Lynn and Lynnmall. Blockhouse Bay Beach is just beyond the village and is a lovely place for a picnic or bush walking. The bus stop on the road immediately outside our house
goes directly into the city, and links to all Auckland suburbs. Two golf courses are within 10 minutes drive from our home, and tennis courts are even closer. There are several good walks through local parks.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Auckland is a small city offering all facilities. It has lovely beaches a short drive away (St Heliers with white sand to Piha for surfing and black sand), theatre, unequalled bush walks in the nearby Waitakere ranges, a very good zoo fifteen minutes drive away, historic parks (MOTAT and Western Springs just 15 minutes drive away). There are many excellent restaurants offering NZ fare and all ethnic options.
