Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our wonderful family home is located only a few walking minutes from Trieste's city center. We love its garden with a swimming pool and sea glimpse and its cosy but modern interiors. If you visit, you will notice the love we put in it and the special touch given by our kids, Luca (8) and Sofia (6). It is a perfect flat to stay with children, as they can play in the pool while the parents relax in the shade or in the living room and keep an eye on them. The flat sleeps 6 persons in proper beds, but can accomodate up to 8 if you use the inflatable mattress in the studio.
Trieste is still a secret spot among Italy's better known but often overcrowded cities. It is a cultural melting pot of Italian, Austrian, Jewish and Eastern influences and Italy's coffee capital. From its majestic central square on the water to the fairytale Miramare castle to Europe's second largest synagogue or its historical cafés, you will find something for each taste. In 2012 Lonely Planet even named it world's no. 1 undiscovered destination, and its region one of the 2016 world's regions to visit.
The city is not just a wonderful place to be explored in its own right, but is also strategically located. It is only about 1.5/2 hours by car or train from Venice, or you can quickly reach Slovenia and Croatia's Mediterranean coastline (15 minutes to Koper, 20 minutes to Izola, 40 minutes to Piran, one of Slovenia's gems, and an hour or so to wonderful Rovinj or Porec). In about 90 minutes you are at the border with Austria and have the wonderful Austrian mountains at your disposal. One hour drive to the east you find Slovenia's charming capital city Ljubljana, and in 45 minutes you can try some of Italy's best wines in the famous Collio region. While enjoying the Italian lifestyle, in Trieste you have the chance to explore easily four European countries without much driving.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
We live in a quiet residential area with one of the best gelaterie right in front of our house. There is also a cinema and a pizzeria right next doors. There is a bakery a few steps from the flat where you can get your daily breakfast croissant. Further down the road (about 50 metres) you find an olympic indoor and outdoor swimmingpool. There are two public beaches about ten minutes walk from our flat and further ones about 10 min. by car.
