Trieste is a beautiful and interesting city (200.000 inhabitans), full of picturesque nooks, lively and pleasant, in the northeast of Italy, on the Adriatic sea. Miramare Castle, Duino Castle, San Giusto Castle and Cathedral, Muggia, Opicina, easily reachable by foot or by public transport.Venice is reachable by train (1.40 minutes), a perfect day trip.
Our house is a little apartment, composed by a kitchen, a bath, and a spacious bedroom, in which is also a sofa bed. It's situated in a lively central popular location, full of bars, restaurants and shops, only seven minutes walk from the famous Piazza Unità d'Italia

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Il quartiere in cui si trova l'appartamento (San Giacomo) è una delle zone più autentiche della città, piena di negozi di ogni tipo, bar, osterie, pizzerie, ristoranti. Come in tutti i centri storici è difficile trovare parcheggio per l'automobile, ma proprio di fronte a casa c'è un comodo parcheggio sotterraneo a pagamento (45 euro per settimana). La zona è servitissima da mezzi pubblici, a pochi metri ci sono le fermate degli autobus che vi porteranno ovunque in città. A piedi il centro e le rive sono raggiungibili in dieci minuti a piedi. A Trieste si possono fare bagni di mare e prendere il sole, mancano però le spiagge di sabbia.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Particolarmente in estate una vera istituzione triestina sono le Osmizze (locali aperti solo pochi giorni all'anno, dove si possono mangiare e bere i prodotti del contadino. Frequenti anche le sagre del pesce, dove si può mangiare all'aperto il pescato del mare triestino. Una escursione interessante vi porterà a Opicina, non mancate di andarci con lo storico tram, da qui godrete una splendida vista sul golfo di Trieste. In autobus potrete andare a Muggia, storica e splendida cittadina dai connotati veneziani, dove potrete mangiare all'Ittiturismo, una terrazza affacciata sul golfo. In città abbondano le manifestazioni culturali, mostre d'arte e altro. Disponendo dell'automobile, nella vicina Slovenia e Croazia si contano a decine le mete interessanti e le spiagge. In treno e in giornata potrete visitare Venezia, Gorizia e Udine. In città non perdete gli interessanti musei cittadini, la cattedrale di San Giusto, la chiesa di San Nicolò dei Greci, i castelli di Miramare e Duino.....
