Our children had plenty of room and enjoyed playing with the neighbour- kids. The surrounding is perfect for walks with the dog and we explored the beautiful county Laois. THE LOCAL AREA.
We live 3 kilometers away from the bustling town of Portlaoise. Portlaoise contains lots of amenities such as large supermarkets, lots of restaurants ,cafes, a theatre and art gallery etc. There s also a newly built municipal swimming pool , gym and playground. In the immediate vicinity, there are lovely woods at the rear of the house for leisurely walking.
We live about 2 km from a large ancient fortress called the Rock of Dunamaise, a historical landmark in the county. Emo court, a large Palladian mansion is also a great place to go for a summer walk, or if you want you can take a tour of the house itself. We live in an area that has many local walks in woods if you like the outdoor life.
Nearby towns of Abbeyleix and Durrow are worth exploring for their award-winning cafes and pubs. There is a fabulous bakery in Abbeyleix. And a wonderful Castle in Durrow , operating as a very well known wedding destination. Here you can spend a leisurely afternoon enjoying some food and a drink in their restaurant. There's well known venue called Burtown House outside Athy that is famous for their organic garden and they sell their produce in their award winning restaurant.

We live a little more than an hour away from Dublin airport, Ireland's largest airport. It is the nearest airport to us. Cork airport is a little more than 2 hours away. Aer Lingus and Ryanair offer affordable flights to these airports daily.
Shopping:We live near Kildare Village, the designer outlet for an enjoyable days shopping.
