Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

Our home is a spacious and bright private dwelling located in the country 5km outside Kilcullen a small town on the River Liffey in County Kildare a major tourist/ historical part of Ireland Only 10 minutes’ walk from the house brings you to a historical Round tower/high Cross and local bar. We are located only 45 minutes from Dublin city and 20 minutes from major towns of Newbridge, Naas and Kildare. Kilcullen has all the amenities of a small town, shops, pubs, restaurants, gas Station, hairdresser, sports centre, walks etc.

The house has central heating and also a stove in the main living room which you can fill with wood and light in the evening while you enjoy an Irish coffee.

There is wireless broadband internet, television with over 100 stations with . Kitchen is fitted with washing machine, Tumble dryer, Dishwasher, Fridge Freezer, Microwave and electronic hob and oven.

Suitable for a large family the house is modern with all the comforts of home with 4 bedrooms (Bedroom 1) master bedroom with large double bed, (Bedroom 2) Kids bedroom with 2 beds (Bedroom 3) Bedroom with single bed (Bedroom 4) single bed. Main bathroom with bath and Double shower, Small W.C. with electronic shower.

Local Area
Kilcullen is a friendly small Irish town with great food including a Michelin guide restaurant. The town has lovely walks with the highlight being the Camphill community Farm and nature walk along the river Liffey. There is a playground for children beside the sports centre which caters for many sports e.g. Pitch and Putt, Kayaking , Soccer, Hurling, Gaelic Football, Tennis, and Badminton to name but a few in the town and also horse riding, horse racing, Dog racing, hiking, fishing, cycling and golf also nearby.

Other local areas of note
Kildare village for outlet shopping, Japanese garden and national stud, St Bridget’s cathedral, Lullymore heritage park Liffey and cannel, Newbridge Museum of Style icons, Lilly O’Brien’s Chocolate factory and Curragh to name but a few.

Dublin
Dublin city is 45 minutes away and was named in the world’s top 10 city’s by Lonely planet in 2016. Dublin has all the attractions of a major city historical buildings, Restaurants, nightlife, live Sports and Concerts, Museums and some that are unique to Dublin like the Guinness storehouse, Zoo, Beaches, mountains and Nightlife.

Powerscourt Estate and Glendalough
Powerscort is one of many Estates in the area but also one of the nicest it was voted the 3rd best garden in the world by national geographic in 2014 a must see on your trip and nearby is one of the most important monastic sites in Ireland Glendalough situated in a picturesque glacial valley with great hiking around the monastic site.

Kilkenny city
Kilkenny is the Ireland of many visitors' imaginations. Built from dark-grey limestone flecked with fossil seashells, Kilkenny (from the Gaelic 'Cill Chainnigh', meaning the Church of St Canice) is also known as 'the marble city'. Its picturesque 'Medieval Mile' of narrow lanes and historic buildings strung between castle and cathedral along the bank of the River Nore is one of the southeast's biggest tourist draws.

Wicklow Mountains
Russborough house and gardens are a great day trip with fairy walk, historic house, Gardens and play ground.
Blessington lakes 500 acres of water in the Wicklow Mountains with beaches areas for cycles kayaking and hiking etc.

Tatyo Park
50 minutes to Ireland’s largest amusement park and Zoo with Europe’s largest wooden roller coaster

Newgrange
55 minutes to oldest monument in Ireland built 3200BC predates Pyramids and Stonehenge.
