Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Today one of the prettiest residential and scene quarters of Berlin, Prenzlauer Berg escaped damage in the second world war and still has cobble-stoned streets and rows of beautifully restored buildings from around 1900. Still central, yet quieter than Berlin Mitte, it offers countless pubs, restaurants, cafés, galleries and little shops. Many artists choose Prenzlauer Berg as their residence, but there is also a large percentage of families with young childen.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Prenzlauer Berg is one of the scene quarters of Berlin and one of the most popular neighbourhoods. In addition to pubs, restaurants, cafés, open air markets and little shops there are countless cultural attractions and historical sights around. The nearby outdoor Berlin Wall Memorial extends for 1.4km along Bernauer Strasse and integrates an original section of the wall. Mauerpark offers a hugely popular Sunday flea market, and Berlin’s oldest and most beautiful beer garden is just around the corner. The Berlin Kulturbrauerei, originally built and operated as a brewery and one of the few well-preserved examples of industrial architecture in Berlin, is now a cultural centre with cinemas, theatres and clubs.
Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
