Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our home is just 30 minutes from Vancouver, 20 minutes from YVR and 20 minutes to the US Border. In addition, we are located just 5 minutes from BC Ferries that will connect you to Vancouver Island and the Southern Gulf Islands (we have another home there).
Our home is in the community of Tsawwassen- pop. 25000. Tsawassen has a Mediterranean like climate and we have less than half the annual rainfall of Vanvcouver. Yes!! It is true. Tsawwassen is situated on a peninsula between Boundary Bay and the Strait of Georgia. Many beach activities may interest you including walking on the tidal flats, swimming, bike riding on the dikes, kayaking and "birding". The area is a significant resting stop on the Pacific Flyway and we see migrating shore birds, Snow Geese, and even Snowy Owls during the winter. Resident birds include numerous raptor species, nesting Bald Eagles and a very large Heron rookery. The Reifel Bird Sanctuary is located in nearby Ladner.
You can walk or bike to the beach, play golf or tennis, hang out in coffee shops, experience fine dining locally or choose to drive or take the bus/Sky Train to Vancouver for world class shopping, eating and entertainment. If you prefer a trip to Whistler for a day of hiking, sightseeing or skiing or, perhaps a drive to Seattle, this is all easily done. Whale watching charters leave from nearby Richmond.
Our home is fully equipped and wheelchair accessible. We have swimming pool (seasonal and solar heated) and a hot tub to enjoy after a busy day.
