We are a retired couple who have lived most of our lives on Vancouver Island. Since our marriage 18 years ago, we travelled ever year to Germany and lived in a small, friendly village of 3,000 people nestled in the mountains of Bavaria for 3-4 months. Fortunately, we were able to travel with friends to Austria, France, Spain, Croatia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland and Scotland. We wanted to experience a similar lifestyle here in Canada so moved to Qualicum Beach from Victoria in 2009. We found everything we wished for....a real sense of community, an active lifestyle and friendly people to share our lives with. We invite you to enjoy our part of the world.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our beautiful 2 storey 2800 square foot home is located in one of the most fascinating places on Vancouver Island. Qualicum Beach is a charming, friendly, quiet community of about 8,000 people on the central eastern coast of Vancouver Island. We were drawn here by the quaint village atmosphere, the mild climate, the fabulous sandy beaches and all the outdoor activities that are at our fingertips (hiking, golfing, kayaking, cycling, walking, fishing and swimming). Excursions to the nearby islands in the Salish Sea have been and continue to be unforgettable experiences.
The main floor of our home has a living room, formal dining room, powder room, library/art studio, laundry room and a kitchen/family room which has doors opening to the lovely landscaped garden and patio.
A curved staircase takes you up to the second floor where you will find three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen sized four-poster bed, an en-suite bathroom and a lovely view of the garden and golf course beyond. One guest bedroom has a queen sized bed and the other has 2 single beds. A guest bathroom is shared by both. Also on the second floor is a bonus room but we call it Guenter's "playroom" because this is where he has his toys (model airplanes and model railway).
