Read More...We had the fortune of seeing our hosts when we arrived at their beautiful house at the edge of Sechelt. Rose and Bryan provided a delicious lunch for us and gave us valuable tips and literature that would fill our days with kayaking, hiking and sightseeing all along the southern part of the coast. Sechelt is a small, nice town, located on the ancestral land of the shíshálh Nation, with indigenous cultural and commercial organizations, a museum, village, and totem poles along the beach. The weather was very cooperative, and some drizzle added to the mystical atmosphere in the forest, where we walked along Chapman Creek to observe thousands of pink salmon migrating upstream to spawn. The view of the sea from the nicely furnished house and the balcony is spectacular and the beach is just a few steps away. Having had a marvelous time, we highly recommend this place for an exchange. Thank you very much, Rose and Bryan!
