Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Spacious comfortable family home situated on .75 acre lot with garden. Newly renovated, 4 bedroom/4 bathroom split over 2 floors. Hot tub on its own deck. Large deck off the back of the home that looks out on Mount Prevost sunsets. Large windows throughout that let the sunlight in. Heat pump keeps the home cool in the heat of summer. Quiet neighbourhood and friendly neighbours. We are fully stocked for the outdoor enthusiast - mountain bikes, road bike, camping gear, sit upon kayak, skim boards, tennis rackets, golf clubs, basketball hoop. Garage gym with elliptical and treadmill. Enjoy sitting on the deck and watching the many birds that visit our yard.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our home is located a 10 minute drive from the quaint small town of Duncan. We are in a rural residential subdivision. 5 minute drive to beautiful Maple Bay on the Pacific Ocean where you can swim, kayak, boat, scuba dive. We live on Mount Tzouhalem, a destination for mountain biking and hiking. There is a weekly Farmer's Market in Duncan. The Cowichan River is a Canada Heritage river with world class trout fishing. You can walk on the Trans Canada Trail, the longest trail in the world. We are known for our vineyards and culinary tourism. Cowichan is the First Nations' word for 'Warmland" - see our First Nations Cultural Center. It is less than an hour's drive to get to Victoria to the south or Nanaimo to the north of Duncan. Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
We live on Mount Tzouhalem, easy access to mountain biking and lovely walking trails. Duncan is a 45 minute drive to Victoria, the capital of BC. Duncan is in the Cowichan Valley with access to whale watching, sailing, scuba diving. We are within 45 minutes drive to Lake Cowichan and Fuller Lake where we go in the summers for swimming. We are 1 hour drive from Parksville and Rathtrevor Beach, gorgeous sandy beach, favorite family destination. We are 2.5 hours from Tofino, surf capital and glorious Long Beach. Visit Old Growth forest in Carmanah Valley. We will have information for you to access all the favorite sites on Vancouver Island.

Our dog will be staying with family. The yard is fairly low maintenance, but if you could water the plants outside when the weather gets very dry. We will leave our fridge stocked with the basic food items to get you through until you have time to shop for groceries. We love our home. Please take care with it, and we will take good care of yours.
