Steven’s homely, book-filled and very individual house was an ideal location for trips to the neighbouring cities of Ghent, Bruges and Antwerp. We also visited Ypres and some interesting World War I trenches at Sanctuary Hill, with its own museum. The countryside is ideal for cycling as it’s so flat and the roads are in excellent order. We did a round trip to the North Sea of over 40 miles - and one of us wasn’t even a regular cyclist. Steven was a great host as he was so communicative, relaxed and helpful, providing lots of useful suggestions as to what to visit and even where to park in the cities. His wonderful wood burning stove wasn’t needed as the weather was so good, but it is sure to make for a very cosy stay in the winter months. Thanks for a great stay. Kim

We enjoyed very much staying for a few days at Veronique and Steven's house. it is a quiet and large typical building. Sint laureins is a charming village not far from Bruges and the coast. Thank you, dear hosts, to give us the opportunity to visit again your so attractive area. hélène and Alain

We had a great time at Steven's place. We were blessed with wonderful weather at Easter, which made the location perfect for visiting nearby Ghent & Brugges. It's a lovely big house in a beautiful village and is a great base to explore Belgium and the Netherlands (which is a 5-minute drive to the border!). There was an extensive guide (loved the guide to free parking in the local cities!), with lots of great recommendations and we had everything we needed for the stay. We really enjoyed cooking on the Aga and the warmth made the house so cosy. Our home was left clean and tidy, and thank you for a brilliant swap.

Een thuis dat met veel liefde en aandacht is samengesteld. Het voelt als een voorrecht er gebruik van te mogen maken. Er is meer dan genoeg te doen in de omgeving; Overdag wandelen in de omgeving of aan het strand van Cadzand en de steden Gent en Brugge bezoeken. Steven’s tips waren zeer de moeite waard. S’avonds met een boek bij de haard. Een heerlijke week.

We enjoyed Steven's house in the pretty village of Sint-Laureins. The surrounding area invites you for a bike ride in the idyllic polder landscape. Stevens property is a paradise for books and movie lovers! Highly recommended.

this was a very pleasant stay in a rural area. The house is spacious and interesting. Good area for cycling and also towns and cities are easy to drive to.
