Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

This contemporary open plan home, with accommodation for 6-8 people, is set in the picturesque Barossa Valley, with views of rolling farmland, trees and hills from each of its panoramic windows. Set on its own 40 acres, Creeve Roe provides privacy and relaxed living style within 10 minutes of some of the best vineyards and winemakers in Australia. The wineries span the valley between the quaint towns of Tanunda, Lyndoch and Angaston providing easy access to their shops, galleries, restaurants and home grown produce.

Creeve Roe is also just 10 minutes from Gawler a thriving country town and a further 45 minute drive will have you in the state's capital city of Adelaide, renowned for its festivals, restaurants and twinkling city lights.

South Australian weather is most frequently fine with hot dry summers and mild winters. The Barossa Valley is slightly cooler than the Adelaide plains and Creeve Roe's breezes, wide opens skies, sunsets and starry nights are wonderful. The property has historic early settlement ruins and a couple of creeks to explore, or recline in comfort in the lounge or under the pergola and watch for the kangaroo family that have made Creeve Roe their home. You are also likely to see the pair of Peregrine Falcons that nest in the nearby North Para River cliffs, or any of the many native birds that inhabit the area. There's a book to help you identify them.

The house can easily accommodate 6-8 people in its 3 queen size bedrooms and sofa bed in the 3rd bedroom upstairs.

Built in the 1990s the western red cedar house has more windows than solid walls and a modern kitchen that is the hub of the living area and makes meal preparation fun, especially with local wine and olives on the expansive kitchen bench. The dining area has a solid red gum slab table made by a local craftsman.

The lounge room is comfortably furnished with a leather suite including 2 reclining armchairs to ensure a relaxed stay.

The large family bathroom has a two person bath and a separate walk in shower. There is also a second shower room and separate toilet off the fully equipped laundry.

The house is air-conditioned throughout with ceiling fans as an alternative for circulating the balmy evening air in summer. For those cooler days in winter, heating is in the form of a very efficient Jotul combustion heater.
Our regular housekeeping service cleans once a fortnight.

Creeve Roe is our weekend retreat and we are happy to exchange for a house, apartment or a comparable property.
