Description of the home we are offering for exchange
McCrae is centrally located on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, an hour's drive from Melbourne. It's an area well known for its superb ocean and bay beaches, great golf courses, and as a destination for gourmet travellers looking to sample regional cuisine and enjoy the wines from the many vineyards in the district.
Our house is conveniently located just 300 metres from the beautiful and safe McCrae swimming beach and was built in 2011. It has two double bedrooms downstairs with an adjoining living area, bathroom, separate toilet, laundry and kitchenette.
Upstairs is a large open plan living, dining, powder room and kitchen area. The upstairs area opens to an extensive deck also with an outdoor table and chairs, gas barbecue and views across the bay. The well fitted contemporary kitchen with near new appliances complements a quality sound system and large screen television while Wi-Fi internet keeps you connected.
Reverse cycle air conditioning and a gas log fire make sure the house remains comfortable all year round

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
McCrae is a small area nestled between Dromana and Rosebud. Although we are about 300 metres from the beach, the McCrae Yacht Club, the lighthouse, and several restaurants/cafes, our house is off the main road and remains a quiet haven. There is easy access to the beach and the foreshore with a cycling/walking track that runs for many kilometres along the Peninsula. A small shopping centre is within walking distance and the freeway that takes you into Melbourne is nearby and easily accessed. Larger centres of Rosebud and Dromana and Dromana are a few minutes away and the historic township of Sorrento is 30 minutes away This is also the departure point for the ferry to Queenscliff, the Bellarine Peninsula and the Surf Coast. Less than half an hour away are great views from Arthurs Seat, the galleries, restaurants and wineries of Red Hill and the surf beaches from Gunnamatta to Portsea. With many excellent golf courses, walking tracks, national parks there are plenty of options.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
McCrae is located on the Mornington Peninsula, a popular summer holiday destination for people from Melbourne. Situated between two bays and the open ocean there is an emphasis on the sea with safe swimming and water based activities on either the more sheltered waters of the bay or the open ocean beaches.
As a cool climate wine growing region there is a strong foodie culture with excellent restaurants and wineries just a few minutes away and many interesting scenic drives to small galleries dotted throughout the peninsula.
