A lovely couple with a lovely home in a lovely city! Lynne and Alan were so helpful to us when learning to navigate Sydney. Their home and neighborhood were great. Such a good experience. We look forward to hosting them, and hope we can be just as helpful and hospitable.

The area was ideal for us to visit family and they us and we found the access to the ferry at Abbotsford brilliant. Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
We live in a beautiful inner-west suburb of Sydney close to the harbour foreshores of Iron Cove with lots of parklands and leisure facilities. It's a short walk to the 'Bay Run', a popular 7km walking and cycling track that passes through several other suburbs (Haberfield, Lilyfield, Rozelle and Drummoyne) along its way around Iron Cove. The local shopping centre is a few minutes walk away with a large supermarket, local services, library, and an abundance of cafes and multicultural restaurants. The area has an Italian influence and a relaxed atmosphere.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
The surrounding tree lined streets are quiet but there is quick road access to the City West Link road towards the city and the Cross City Tunnel to the eastern suburbs, To go west towards the Blue Mountains it is about 3km drive to join the M4 motorway.
Public transport options are varied. Within 5-10 minutes walking distance there are buses to the city centre. These come every 10 minutes at peak hours or there might be a 15 minute wait at other times. The trip takes between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on the traffic.
Our favourite mode of transport is by ferry from Abbotsford or Chiswick, both a 10 minute bus trip or drive away. The ferry takes about half an hour and it is very pleasant on a sunny day to sail under the Harbour Bridge past the Opera House and International Shipping Terminal and arrive at Circular Quay.
The local Light Rail station of Hawthorne gives quick access to the Fish Markets, Darling Harbour, and Central Railway Station.
Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
Our 2005 Honda CRV could be available for a vehicle exchange.
As we are retired we can be flexible on dates and length of exchange. We have family and friends in UK and Spain, so England and Europe are attractive destinations for us. We have hosted several visitors from Europe and also enjoyed several successful exchanges.
Please check our exchange preferences below.
