We had a wonderful time in Elanora. Shane and Gaye have a beautiful house in a lovely area and made us very welcome. You’ll find nearby lakes to walk around and birds to watch. We really enjoyed feeding the lorikeets and minor birds every morning. We even had a wallaby in the garden. We enjoyed the large pool. The beaches are undoubtedly the best, and there are some very good nearby wildlife sanctuaries to visit too. Shopping Mall and good restaurants and cafes all nearby too. The Tamborine mountains and Lamington National Park are great for walking. Everything was perfect.

Beyond my expectations! Relaxing on the lanai watching nature at my doorstep I felt like I was in a green paradise! Shane & Gaye were wonderfully welcoming and so helpful with advice. Daytrips for hiking and oceanside trails were plentiful and easy transit into Brisbane for galleries and river cruising. Loved this visit!!

Close to Coastal Beaches and the Hinterland areas of the Gold Coast and Northern NSW. We enjoyed having Australian nature right on our door step. The morning sounds of the Kookaburra, the warble of the magpie and that air cutting sound of the whip bird. A very relaxing place to stay as well as being close to multiple adventures.

Shane and Gaye's home is only 10 minutes in-land from Palm Beach, but it is a 'world away', 'nestled' in to a beautiful shady well designed estate, with lovely views of the Hinterland from their deck - it is well and tastefully appointed and has a lovely swimming pool, that we lazed in when it was hot, and exercised in of an early morning - of nearly 50 exchanges that we have done over recent years, this was one of the most relaxing and both of us read 2 large books, rather than going out, though we still did a great 2 day drive to Mount Tambourine with an overnight Airbnb up there. We also went to Tweed Heads, nearby Palm Beach and of course Surfers Paradise, where we have good friends. All in all a great exchange and great people, and we would highly recommend it to anyone !

I had the pleasure of staying at Gaye and Shane's home in August. Their house is in a very quiet residential area, with beautiful trees at the back, and the constant singing of wonderful native birds. One doesn't need an alarm clock as the music from the birds is much more pleasant than any alarm! Unfortunately, the weather wasn't warm enough to enjoy the backyard pool! This house is a short drive from the stores and absolutely beautiful beaches which go on for miles. The Bird and Wildlife sanctuary is a must and being up close and personal with the Koalas and Kangaroos was especially special. Also, a visit to the Himterland was most enjoyable and the views amazing. The people we met have to be some of the friendliest I have ever met, and also so helpful each time I got lost in the maze of roads without a GPS!! Yea, the Gold Coast is a great area to visit.
