Alstonville is an attractive small village, with a full range of services, including a supermarket, fruit shops, bakers, hairdressers, cafes and restaurants. It is situated 10 minutes from the coastal town of Ballina, in northern New South Wales, and 20 minutes for the regional University town of Lismore. The village is in the centre of a lively and diverse rural region, with rain forests and mountains to the north, and some of Australian's best beaches. The region has a vibrant arts scene.
