We live in the medieval cathedral city of Lichfield, Staffordshire, which is in the middle of England about 20 miles north of Birmingham. We have excellent rail links to Birmingham, Britain's second largest city with great shopping, restaurants, theatre including the Birmingham Royal Ballet, and museums. We have excellent, reasonably priced direct trains to London. You can be in London in less than 2 hours and back home to the peace and tranquillity of Lichfield, after a hectic day sightseeing or visiting a show in the West End of London.

Lichfield has plenty of coffee shops and restaurants, as well as the historic cathedral and birthplace museum of Dr Samuel Johnson, who compiled the first English dictionary and Erasmus Darwin, grandfather of Charles Darwin.

The delightful towns of Stratford upon Avon and Warwick are a 45 minute drive away.
