The cabin is placed at 1000 metres above sea level, at Vierli. A fantastic place for skiing in wintertime, and hiking and bicycle in summertime. The cabin is newly rebuilt and renovatet in 2018, and has got everything you need to have a very comfortabel time in the fantastic landscape.

Rauland is located along the Hardangervidda, a national park bigger than Rocky Mountains! Rauland and Rjukan are close in distance and great destinations for a family trip or vacation with lots of attractions and activities all year around.

IN SUMMER
You can visit the fantastic beach Fagersand by Lognvikvatnet. There is also a nice beach next to Rauland church.
Take a trip with the catamaran MB Fjellvåken, operating a daily route to and from Skinnarbu – Mogen, on Møsvatn. It is a historical route that, for generations, has transported hikers, cabin dwellers, and permanent residents to a unique, roadless society. This catamaran slices through the breathtaking scenery, passing mountain farms set in a magnificent scenery.
You can visit Telemark farmstead, located next to Raulandsakademiet. I has got a crafts exhibition, cafè serving traditional food, open craft workshops and a traditional wood-fired stone oven bakery. There are also folk music concerts taking place here during the summer season.
And what about a family-friendly hike in beautiful high mountain nature with panoramic views to Falkeriset, Bossnuten or Gaustatoppen. The Saboteur’s Trail is an 8-kilometer-long path that begins at Rjukan Fjellstue and ends at the Vemork Power Station.

Rjukan is only 35 minutes away and can offer Rjukanbadet , a nice spabath for young and old.
Gaustatoppen (1883 meters) in Rjukan is claimed to be the most beautiful mountain in Norway! On a clear day you can see 1/6 av Norway from the top. You can choose to hike the mountain or take a cable car to the top.
You can take The Krossobane Cable Car, it was the first cable car to be built in northern Europe. The view over Rjukan from the upper station is fantastic, with the mountains rolling away to the south and west and Vemork nestling in the valley where the dramatic heavy water sabotage operations took place during the WWII.
Or maybe you want to explore the heavy water cellar at Vemork . See the result of the mission that changed the course of history, while also learning about a major, important part of Norwegian history - one of Norway's most thrilling interactive exhibitions.


IN WINTER
There are 3 ski areas in Rauland with runs in all levels of difficulty, a total of over 20 kilometers. Our longest run is 3 km long. We have steep trails for the toughest, off-piste and powder – and of course family-friendly slopes, parks and areas.
Rauland offers 150 km of cross-country trails, many of them daily groomed through the winter season, and you find the slopes just outside the door of our home in Flotubu.
