Vic and I retired a few years ago, he from a 26 year banking career and then real estate, and myself from 15 years in real estate (and parenthood). We moved to Calgary, Alberta from Cranbrook, British Columbia (Canada) 3 years ago as both of our daughters and our two grandchildren live there. We travel a fair bit, spending our winters in Mexico and travel in Canada throughout the summers, when we're not home enjoying family. We have become avid pickleball players in the last 3 years and try to play everywhere we go! We have a small dog that we share custody of with special friends whenever we are out of country.

In a quiet area of a Mexican fishing village that becomes host to cruise ships 2 or 3 times per week. Progreso in the Yucatan is close to such amazing archaeology as Chitzen-Itza, Uxmal, Ek Balam, Xcambo and many other ruins as well as an endless number of cenotes (fresh water pools formed with the peninsula's natural limestone). Lots to explore and enjoy, while enjoying amazing weather year round. The beach is 100 meters from the condo complex and while the buses are definitely older, the transit system is frequent and very inexpensive making it convenient to get around throughout the area without a car, if so desired.

From our condo you can walk along the Golf of Mexico beach for about 3kms to reach either the downtown of Progreso to the west, and Chicxulub to the east. Progreso is home to the largest pier in the world at 6.5 kms long, allowing cruise ships to visit us regularly. Chicxulub is home to the giant crater than ended the dinosaur era when it hit the earth and caused massive fires and flooding. The beautiful colonial city of Merida is just a half hour's drive (or bus) south of the Golf, and very much worth visiting. This is where you would fly into, although some people choose to fly into Cancun and take the bus or rent a car to come the 4 hours west to Merida and Progreso.

No smoking allowed. Guests need to be able to climb stairs as our condo is on the third floor (hence ocean view with only one row of single story houses in front of us), and we have no elevator. The complex swimming pool is for public use and the pool is only available for use between 8 am and 8 pm. Please be sure the complex gate is kept locked when you enter or exit the complex.
