Rovereto is a nice little town in the Alps, near Lake Garda (20 km west) and the cities of Trento (25 km north) and Verona (70 km south).
A wide range of activities are available in the vicinity: wind-surfing, sailing and kayaking on lake Garda and other lakes in the region; mountain-biking, climbing, trekking, skiing, horse riding etc on the mountains around the town; sightseeing in historical cities nearby (Trento, Bolzano, Verona...); visiting medieval castles, museums, and WW1 sites. From Spring to Autumn, the area is ideal for people who like motorbiking.
Both Venice and Milan are 2 hours away by train or car, and there is a direct fast train link to Florence (3 hrs) and Rome (4 hrs). Rovereto is also home to one of Italy's most important museums of modern art (MART) and hosts many cultural festivals throughout the year (Festival Mozart, Oriente Occidente modern dance festival, ..). There are many other festivals, especially in summer, throughout the region (Festival Economia in Trento, Sounds of the Dolomites, Jazz Festivals, ..) and the summer opera season in Verona is less than an hour away. The area is also a large producer of wine, and there are many small producers offering wine tasting.
Our new home is on the periphery of town: it is very quiet, and the windows face on the valley, with great views on the mountains. It is suitable for people who have their own car, as it is located near the crossroads between the road to Verona, Trento and Riva del Garda. The centre of town is 2 kms away.
We are two teachers, Stefano teaches maths and Claudia teaches philosophy in Rovereto.
We are usually on holiday in July and August, and during the Xmas and Easter holidays.
