Our neighbourhood is very friendly and quiet, a suburban area, with wild birdlife and often Icelandic horses in the neighbourhood. 1 km. from our house there is a heated swimmingpool with a wave-pool, a large slide and hot pots. There are nice walks along the coast from our house. Good views to mountains and ocean. There is one café/restaurant in our "village" and one snack-bar by the pool. 5 km. away there is a choice of restaurants, and a variety of supermarkets. Reykjavik center is 12 km. away, about 15. min. driving. From our house it´s possible to go on daytrips to f.ex. Gullfoss and Geysir (2 hrs.), to Snæfellsnes (3 hrs.) or the South-Coast, a day trip. Reykjanes peninsula is close by with the Blue Lagoon (40.min.) and a rugged lava landscape.
