Read More...We loved staying in Marie's second home on the East coast of Ireland close to Curracloe Beach. This expansive, wild beach is gorgeous to visit with nature trails (full of juicy blackberries just ripe for the picking). The house is very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen- I made a crumble out of those blackberries. If you catch the ferry from Rosslare, the house is very convenient to start or finish your Irish tour. We did day trips to Johnstown Castle with its attractive gardens, visited Waterford crystal and enjoyed the informative walking tour in Wexford for the local history. Otherwise we were happy to chill out enjoying walking around the local area and having a drink with the friendly locals at the pub after driving many kilometres in other parts of Ireland. Marie is a great host even driving down from near Dublin to greet us a day earlier than we had originally planned. We loved all the local Irish foods she left us to try.

We had problems with our hire car and she got us sorted on that also. The hospitality extended to my sister and I was above and beyond. I can't wait to extend same to her when she arrives here in Tasmania. Thank you Marie, Helen

Beschreibung unserer Nachbarschaft und Gegend
Small peaceful village with two pubs (one in a hotel) supermarket, petrol station, post office, church and primary school. Fabulous beaches, nearest beach is 1 km from house and is 7 kms long, with wonderful white sand, very safe for children, great for swimming. This beach was used in the opening scenes of the film 'Saving Private Ryan'; beach also used in the film "Brooklyn"
Wexford Town is 7 Kms (5 miles), a historic, cultural town renowned for its narrow streets, music, vibrant town centre with great shops, restaurants, pubs, hotels, cinema (7 screens), theatre, opera house, beautiful public indoor swimming pool/leisure centre etc.
Great base for exploring the 'Sunny South East' and 'The Ancient East Coast' of Ireland.
