We had a wonderful time in Lorena and Gianpiero’s house in southern Crete! The house is spacious and comfortable and tastefully decorated with lovely flowering plants. In the two patios and the two terraces there is always a cool, airy spot, even in the hottest temperatures. The view from the roof terrace is fantastic. We also exchanged our cars and with their 4x4 Panda we were able to handle all the off-road tracks that led us to breathtaking gorges and beaches. We had a fantastic time at Lorena and Gian Piero's house, nestled in beautiful Sivas, just a few kilometres from lovely beaches. The house with loggia, patio, terrace and roof terrace leaves nothing to be desired. Rosetta and Gian Piero were delightful hosts with lots of great tips for activities in the area. It was especially nice to meet in person. Our cat also enjoyed the loving care.

Staying in the house of Lorena and Gian Piero was a real pleasure. Their pretty house nestled in the heart of the village is perfectly adapted to the local climate: patios, terraces, cool rooms, and lots of brightness, all complemented by absolute calm even in this summer period. For dinner there is an embarrassment of choice with the “Taverna” nearby or a weekly open market in the nearest town that should not be missed. The days punctuated between seaside and the gorgeous mountains passed unfortunately at lightning speed. A big thank you to both of you for this immersion in Cretan culture.

Lorena and Gian Pierro's refuge on Crete's South Western Coast caters every need. It is charming, spacious and well-situated for people looking for clean and quieter beaches away from the touristic North. Matala and Pavlos Beach were our favourite ones, though Komos Beach is also nice when there is no wind. And the food offered at the restaurants at the main square of Sivas is simply delicious as well as a bargain. Thank you so much for this wonderful time amidst breathtaking scenery.

Beschreibung unseres Tauschangebotes

Our house is located in a traditional Cretan village 5 km from the sea in a lush plain of olive tree, close to archaeological sites and exciting paths between gorges and mountains, in a natural setting still untouched. The house on the ground floor has two bedrooms, a study and a bathroom. On the first floor there is a large living room with kitchen, dining area and relaxation area, and a second service bathroom. On this floor there is a large terrace where you can eat and / or relax looking at the surrounding landscape where rolling hills alternate with large expanses of olive trees. The house is 120 sqare meter and also offers two additional outdoor spaces, one of which is particularly private and the other, the entrance courtyard, shaded by a large tree.
Car available (Fiat Panda 4X4). Auto swap is only possible if reciprocal.

La nostra casa si trova in un tradizionale paesino cretese a circa 4 km dal mare in una lussureggiante pianura di olivi, vicina a siti archeologici ed emozionanti percorsi tra gole e montagne, in un contesto naturale ancora incontaminato. Ospita al piano terra due camere da letto, uno studio e un bagno. Al primo piano c'è un grande living con cucina, spazio pranzo e zona relax, ed un secondo bagno di servizio. Su questo piano si trova un ampio terrazzo dove mangiare e/o rilassarsi guardando il panorama circostante dove dolci colline si alternano a grandi distese di olivi. La casa è di 120 m.q. ed offre anche due spazi esterni ulteriori, di cui uno particolarmente privato e l'altro, il cortile d'ingresso, ombreggiato da un grande albero.
Auto a disposizione (Fiat Panda 4X4). Lo scambio auto è possibile solo se reciproco.

In our village there are 6 tavernas, wherever there is good food and good wine. The Heraklion Archaeological Museum is regarded as one most important of Europe, Archaeological site and Knossos Palace where legendary King Minos lived, (both 40 m. away from our house), archaeological Site of Phaistos (4 Km) is one of the most important palatial centres of Minoan civilization. Hiking Gorges like SAMARIA, RICHTIS GORGE, AGIOS IOANNIS gorge from Zaros lake, IMBROS Gorge and much more; The E4 European Long Distance Path encompasses a large network of trails with special cultural, natural and historical value, Chania town and the Venetian Harbour, The nearest BEACHES are the beautiful Matala and Komos but there are many others in the area.
