We are a family of four: Christoph (33), Nele (33), Ella (6) and Hanna (4). Christoph and I are both civil engineers. I work for the Hamburg Port Authority and Christoph is a self-employed project manager. We lived in Rhode Island/USA for one year, studying at the University of Rhode Island before we finally moved back to my home town Hamburg. We both love travelling and sports. Christoph is interested in history and gardening, I love photography and choir singing.
Our two daughters Ella and Hanna were born in 2013 and 2015. We already had three fantastic homelink experiences and we are looking for many more in the future.

We have a spacious two-story apartment (180 m²) in Hamburg with a private backyard (400 m², Kids play house, sand box, double swings). It's newly renovated and close to public transportation (10 minutes walk to the subway). The apartment is a perfect starting point for sightseeing tours into the city as well as into the more rural areas. You won't need a car to explore the city. Also, the north and baltic sea as well as Berlin are not far and easy to reach (day trip is possible, car or train).
The apartment is best suitable for two adults and two children. 3 adults/kids may work as well. Downstairs we have a large kitchen with entrance to the backyard, a cosy living room, a bath and a laundry room (washer and dryer, additional freezer and fridge, space for strollers etc.).
Upstairs we have a master bedroom (full size double bed), one kid's room (bunk bed, two full size beds), one guest room room with a pull out sofa bed (1,40 m) and a bath.

Beschreibung unserer Nachbarschaft und Gegend
The apartment is in Hamburg-Harburg which is in the south of the city. It is an urban suburb area that is very multi-cultural and characterized by mutli-family-houses and some single-family homes. Grocery stores, bakeries, shops and play grounds are within walking distance. The street is quiet and the neighbours in the apartment-house get on well. The apartment is located right next to the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg.
The connection to the city center is very good (15 minutes by subway). There you have all kind of cultural and entertaining attractions. Also, Hamburg-Harburg has a train station with good connections in many German cities. The Noth and the Baltic Sea can easily be reached by train or by car (1 to 2 hours).
Since the apartment is in the south of the city it is not far to the more rural areas and a good starting point for bike tours. The beautiful "Altes Land" area (well-known for it's apple plantations) is close, as well as several villages and forest

From our apartment you can walk to grocery stores, shops, restaurants/bars, play grounds and parks. By bike or car you can get to the river ELBE and the beautiful "Altes Land" area. Also, the Wildpark (animals in a forest like park, perfect for families) and the Kiekeberg museum (outdoor museum showing old farming traditions etc, lots of special events) are close by.
When you take the subway you will find everything a big and international city like Hamburg can offer (museums, theaters, opera, shopping, restaurants, outdoor activities, the famous port, the Elbe, the Alster, the old Speicherstadt, the modern HarborCity and many more sight-seeing attractions...)
