In just a few minutes you can find yourself in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. Full of quaint villages and historic houses it is a delight to explore. Chatsworth estate and grand house owned and run by the Duke & Duchess of Devonshire is one of our favourite places to visit. Walk by the River Wye, take tea in the old stables, browse the gift shop or take a longer walk through the estate and see the deer roaming. Haddon Hall is another place of historic interest close by The Peak District is one of the most glorious places to visit, a haven for hikers, rock climbers and potholers or those of a less energetic nature who just like to browse. Closer to home our local park, Graves Park, is one of our regular places for a leisurely relaxing walk.The park is extensive with open grassed areas, children's playground, wooded areas, a kiddies animal farm and lakes with ducks and geese. There are bowling greens, tennis courts and a golf links. The Rose Garden cafe sells an array of refreshments. We have several big parks in Sheffield all different and all worth a visit. Visit York and walk the Roman walls or cobbled streets. Take a two hour trip to Scarborough on the east coast. One of the best surviving typically English seaside resorts or go bit further up the coast to Robin Hood's Bay and learn of the smugglers of old. Whitby just to the north is a delightful fishing village & the home of Count Dracula. Take the steep steps and climb up to Whitby Abbey which stands atop the cliffs.
