Judy and Martin are both retired. Judy retired from the Royal Navy a little after we were married some 39 years ago to spend time raising children and animals. Martin finally retired from the British Army after 40 years service in Spring 2018

We are an outgoing couple with easy going personalities, well-travelled (life in the Armed Forces helps) and adaptable. We are fit, non-smokers and enjoy walking, cycling (thanks to the benefits of E-bikes), reading, nature and bird watching. We enjoy travel and immersing ourselves in the local community and culture, something we picked up living in Europe, Hong Kong and travelling the Far East. Most importantly we are keen to meet people and both of us get a real buzz from doing something to help other people, and the Homelink environment allows us to experience living in an area, absorbing the culture and making new local friends. As our children are no longer living at home we are able to travel where and when we want and we love visiting new places We have been members of Homelink for 10 years and have exchanged with people in the USA, Canada and France, thoroughly enjoying their company when we have met and enjoying their hospitality and property, becoming good friends. We are respectful of both people and their belongings, and aware of the importance of privacy and discretion, particularly how this pertains to living in another person's home. We have had our own home for over 30 years and coped with a multitude of DIY/Gardening tasks so have many practical skills to cope with unforeseen minor domestic issues. Judy enjoys gardening and will look after and nurture both house and garden plants. We're experienced in city, rural and country living and have many other interests that travel allows us to explore. Most importantly we do not take ourselves too seriously and have good senses of humour believing that good humour goes a long way in many situations.
