Our location is close to the city centre. An easy walk or a short drive away. We have good shopping and many restaurants and cafes. The museum, art galleries, gardens, churches and theatres are all in the city centre. In summer our street scene is enlivened by outdoor cafes and occassional buskers. Every Saturday our market attracts many people.
There are pleasant walkways and cycle paths along the river and into the Maitai Valley. Walkways and cycle paths also go down to the port and out to popular and safe Tahuna Beach. Lovely views can be seen from the beach and from Rocks Rd on the way to Tahunanui. Near Tahuna beach Tahunanui village has cafes and bars.
From Tahunanui it is just a few minutes ride to join the Great Taste bike trail. This trail includes popular Rabbit Island beach and passes vineyards, cafes, etc and eventually ends in Kaiteriteri with its golden sand beaches and mountain bike park.
Nelson is the home of wearable arts and the WOW gallery of wearable art and classic cars off Quarantine Rd is worth a visit.
Richmond town centre with a modern shopping mall is about 20 minutes drive away.
