I am a retired health professional (an Occupational Therapist by training) with a degree in Health Sciences: born and lived in the UK until 2000 when I moved to New Zealand - this was initially to be a year’s adventure, but turned into a love affair with the country and with Nelson in particular. I love cycling, and do various volunteer stints and belong to a number of organisations, also my friends are very important to me. I have 2 children living in England (Brighton and Cheltenham) and my brother and his family live near Bath. I have 3 little grandsons and like to get back to England to see them all every year during the UK summer (to include some school holiday time). This means winter-time in New Zealand, hence I will consider a non-simultaneous exchange (eg March, which is usually a beautiful time of year here).

Beschreibung unseres Tauschangebotes
Modern home within 15 minute walk of the city centre, and the waterfront. The house has 3 bedrooms (though I use one as an office) so can sleep 4 people, with a queen size bed in each of the 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom has its own en-suite with shower, and a walk-in wardrobe. The main bathroom with bath and shower unit, and a separate wc, are directly adjacent to the other bedroom, which can be screened off from the hallway if desired. There is an attached double garage, currently set up for single car use, accessed by a very short but steep drive. The living room/dining room/kitchen is open plan, with ample light through 7 windows and ranch-sliders, all double glazed. Heating is by heat pump, which also acts as air conditioning in summer, and the house is insulated. There is quality carpet throughout and bright cheerful drapes.
There is a small timber deck area off of the living room, with table, chairs and umbrella. The small and sloping front garden doesn’t need any real attention, and I recently have had a small cultivateable garden made up behind the house (I do aim to get some sort of automated watering system for this!)
This is a new road, built less than 10 years ago, and is a cul-de-sac - quiet and safe. It is built across the side of a hill, and I have a steep bank behind the house, and from the front out there are views over the hills opposite There is a footpath from the road down into the town, and it is 15 minutes to walk by roadside paths (partly uphill) to access Nelson waterfront, which is just beautiful, and where there are a number of restaurants and cafes, and you can walk to big sandy and safe Tahunanui beach. Nelson is a beautiful, friendly and arty city, with the River Maitai and its walkways running through, gardens, theatre, art gallery, museums, Cathedral, shops, restaurants and cafes. This is a very active cycling centre, for cycle trails, and for mountain biking. There are many vineyards in the vicinity. Nelson is an hours drive from the start of the Abel Tasman National Park, similarly is close to Nelson Lakes, and to the Marlborough Sounds.
Possible car exchange.
