The Fraser Valley is a beautiful green oasis between the ocean and the mountains. Chilliwack's economy is largely based on agriculture. We have many local farm tours which include rich honey, tall corn, flower festivals, and our craft beer/organic produce farms. If you enjoy cycling, the Fraser Valley has many on and off road trails. We have 2 hybrid bikes for your use. There are many wineries in the Fraser Valley! They have tasting rooms and often have activities throughout the year. We have several golf courses nearby and they are typically open year round!
The Fraser River, just on the other side of our mountain, is an international draw for Pacific salmon and Sturgeon anglers. There are several very skilled guides that we would be happy to recommend to you.
Cheam Mountain Range is filled with easy, as well as challenging, hiking terrain. There are many day trips from our home (hot tub afterwards, anyone?) and we would be happy to share our camping gear with you should you decide to take an overnight hike. If you are here in the winter you will love our skiing areas! Downhill and cross country areas can all be done in a day. An overnight to Whistler or the interior ski hills is also worth your time!
Watersports are also in abundance in our area. The Pacific Ocean is about an hour and a half away: the San Juan Islands are amazing! There are cruise and ferry ships that travel amongst them between Canada and the US and are worth looking into! Kayaking is very popular in this area. We have personal suggestions for these clubs and guides as well.
We have a rich First Nations heritage in the Fraser Valley. We have some incredible tours that take you through the valley and allow you to gain a deeper understanding of traditional ways of life.
Vancouver is about 100km away. Some of our daughters live there and we have extensive knowledge of the city. Are you interested in the arts or dining or sports?
