Our house is a small stone building located in a wooded hill near to the medieval village of Rotecastello. The house was designed and built by the architect owner according to the principles of bioclimatic architecture with high energy efficiency.
The entrance is through a patio with an outdoor dining table. The living room overlooks the south-facing garden with a large window.
On the ground floor there is the living-dining kitchen, a bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom with shower.
From the living room a staircase leads to a mezzanine overlooking the living room. The mezzanine leads to an attic with three single beds.
In the living room there is a very well functioning fireplace. The ground floor heating is ensured by a radiant floor system powereby a heat pump that takes energy from the photovoltaic component on the roof of the house.
