We live in a residential area in the city - convenience stores of different kinds are nearby (incl. a full-range supermarket (Edeka) right around the corner and a hypermarket with the cheapest petrol station in Munich (V-markt)). Coffee shops and Italian or Greek restaurants and a great Sushi take away place (just one block away ) are available as well, one of the smart areas to go out in the evening (Glockenbach) is down the hill (4 tramway stops), walking down to the Isar is about 15 minutes, a small playground is around the corner, another one about 10 min away by foot - from the Glockenbach you can go straight to the Viktualienmarkt which is right in the center of Munich right next to the "Marienplatz", Munich's main sqaure with the city hall. The tramway stop is an about 2 min walk, so you are close, but don't really hear it. The S-Bahn (Sankt-Martin-Strasse, 2 lines) is about 5-7 min walk away and connects you - among others - to Ostbahnhof (trains departing to the airport). Getting to the A8, the highway leading down south to the lakes, the Alps and Austria/Salzburg is about 5 min by car, so you won`t need to cross the whole city to get to the highway down south (which you have to do when living in places like Schwabing).
