We are a Spanish- Irish couple. We have two children (9 and 5 years old). Alberto is an an economist and I am a former veterinary assistant but now mostly a stay at home mother but I give private English classes to children in the town. We moved from the city to this inland rural village for a quieter life and have lived here in Pizarra for 10 years. We have a well behaved dog, Nora, who loves to accompany us on walks into the forest and hills above us. We enjoy Málaga city on the weekends as it is well connected. We love going to the cinema in the city. We would like to be able to travel with our two kids ( 9 & 5) with out the inconveniences you encounter when staying in a hotel. If we travel we can leave our dog we can take her with us or leave her with a minder.

Beschreibung unserer Nachbarschaft und Gegend
Our house is situated in Pizarra, a quiet country village in inland Málaga (40km from Málaga city) in the pretty Guadalhorce Valley. It has a sunny patio with furniture to sit and enjoy the Andalusian sun or have a bbq. The patio is secure and perfect for visitors with dogs. There are great walks and hikes (Up to the hill-top monument of the Sacred Heart and hermitage through the pine forest on the hills above us. It's a popular place for cyclists. Pizarra is a great base to visit other interesting towns inland as well as coastal. In the town, there are nice restaurants with local cuisine as well as a few fast food outlets. There's also a public swimming pool with a green area. On Thursday mornings the local street market takes place. Pizarra's annual summer fair takes place usually from the 14th-18th in the north area of the town, with music , dancing and attractions. The town is a great base for hiking and there is a nice hiking route up through the forest to the moutain top.
Pizarra is well communicated by road and train with Málaga city and the costa del sol with all its attractions.
Far from the tourist trail, the house is 45 minutes drive from Málaga airport and 40 minutes from the city. The town has many supermarkets and restaurants, medical centre, trainstation. The train takes you straight into Málaga centre in 40 mins and there is a connection with the costal train, that will take you to more touristy coastal towns like; Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola..The beautiful coast has many attractions such a zoo, 2 aquariums, and 2 water parks and lots of aqua-sports. Málaga province is famous for its great seafood, escecially "Espetos" or roasted sardines, cooked right on the beach. Málaga city's vibrant annual summer fair takes place from 11th-19th August. Pizarra is approx 45 mins from Málaga airport.
