  • Had a fantastic time in Kathy's home in Frisby on the Wreake. Kathy provided lunch upon our arrival and we sat and chatted with Kathy and Arthur. The village was delightful and had a community owned pub. Melton Mowbray was only a 10 minute drive for everything you might need. Recommend as a great place to stay. First time in a thatched cottage.

  • A most wonderful exchange!

Kathy's thatched roof cottage is warm, and welcoming has a beautiful English garden and friendly neighbours. She was a very generous & gracious hostess, leaving plenty of information on how to make her home so very comfortable for our stay. She left some wonderful local food as a welcome to Frisby-on-the-Wreake for our first meal. We would love to stay there again!

  • Well equipped and warm thatched cottage

Frisby on the Wreake is a lovely old style village in an area well worth exploring. The local community-owned pub, The Bell, was welcoming and had a great wine list by the glass. Hopefully they will soon be in a position to provide meals. Kathy and Arthur's cottage was well equipped and comfortable. Their generosity was evident in their welcome note and the local treats they left for us. We explored widely - Rutland Water, Barnsdale Gardens, Belton, Bradgate, Burghley (which we really recommend for its Garden of Surprises and Sculpture Gardens), Ashby de la Zouch, Kedleston Hall. And we were very fortunate to have good weather apart from rain one afternoon. We were delighted to discover a wonderful farm shop not far away - Great Dalby I think. All in all we had a lovely time and wish to thank Kathy and Arthur for giving us this opportunity. Jim and Fionnuala.

  • We had a much needed break in Frisby and really enjoyed the house, lovely garden, local walks and local Melton Mowbray pies and cheeses. The house was full of character, beauty and charm. Not far away is Rutland Water, Barnsdale Gardens and the amazing town of Stamford. Thank you for exchanging with us.

  • A long weekend enjoying this beautiful thatched cottage set in glorious gardens in idyllic village setting. Many interesting places to visit we particularly enjoyed national trust Belmont House and shopping in Nottingham. Disappointing we couldn't eat at the local pub as it was full all weekend. Arrange to book in advance would be my suggestion. Great exchange thank you Kathy.

  • A wonderful week

We had a wonderful week in the village and the surroundings. Lot's of nice hiking trails. Delicious food in the pubs nearby. Calm and peacefulness.

  • We were in love

When entering the beautiful, charming cottage we immediately fell in love with it. Very quiet and fine surroundings. Exquisite garden. Lovely and friendly neighbours and residents (we were invited to the village BBQ).
